Cadastre
The official register of all plots of land with their legally binding boundaries, numbers and areas.
It shows which land really belongs to a property and how large it is officially. The figure in a listing can differ from it. The cadastre describes the plot, while the rights to it are recorded in the land register.

Common questions about it
What is the difference between the cadastre and the land register?
The cadastre describes the plot with its boundary and area, the land register the rights to it, such as ownership and charges.
Why does the area in a listing differ from the cadastre?
Listings often round or include areas that do not belong to the plot. The official area is what counts.
