Heritage protection
Legal protection that makes alterations, facade and windows of a building subject to approval.
It can cover a single house or a whole ensemble, and often houses next to a listed building too. Every visible change then needs approval, which adds cost and time. Anyone who alters a building without approval may, in the worst case, have to undo the work.

Common questions about it
May I renovate a listed house?
Yes, but every visible change needs approval. Windows, roof and facade are the most common points of dispute.
