Glossary · Value and price
Market value
The price that can realistically be achieved in a sale under normal conditions.
Buyers often confuse it with the asking price, which is only a starting point for negotiation. Scan my Home works out the market value from comparable properties and official data, not from the listing. The conservative value is derived from the market value and serves as the recommended negotiation ceiling.
