Scan my Home against an agent, a valuation and a free calculator
A free agent estimate wants your listing. We only want the right number, with evidence, verifiable online.
Check a propertyWhy that beats an estate agent
Evidence
No sales interest
An estate agent earns on the listing. Scan my Home introduces you to no one and sells no addresses.
Evidence
Verification number, checkable online
The only one of the four options whose result you can check online with a number.
Benefit
Official registers, not a gut feeling
Land registry, cadastre and other registers checked, not just a look at the property.
Benefit
A result in 8 to 15 minutes
No appointment needed: the check runs while an agent visit is still being arranged.
Side by side, figure for figure
Surveyor prices from our own cost page, our prices from pricing. Free isn't neutral for the agent and the calculator: the agent earns on the listing, the calculator only shows the postcode average.
| Scan my Home | Chartered valuation | Agent estimate | Online calculator | |

The step before a chartered valuation
A chartered valuation carries liability, Scan my Home does not: it is an AI-supported pre-check and second read, not a substitute for a qualified surveyor. Where the result has to hold up somewhere official, nothing replaces the chartered valuation.
For the decision before that, whether a property is worth pursuing at all, the pre-check is enough. It is also the only one of the four whose verification number you can check online.
The last questions before you start
Does Scan my Home replace a chartered valuation?
No. For court, a tax office or when a lender requires it, you still need a chartered surveyor's valuation. Scan my Home is the pre-check for the ten or twenty properties you look at before you buy one.
Why is an agent estimate often free?
Because its goal is the listing, not an independent figure. Scan my Home introduces you to no one and sells no addresses, which is why the report works only for you.
What does a free online calculator miss?
Usually any check of the property itself. The figure is a postcode average, not an assessment of your property, and your contact details go to an estate agent in return.
